Asus PadFone 2, Sleeker and much improved.

The Padfone is an original concept of Asus that combines the tablet with a smart phone. It rivals both the tablet industry as well as the smart phone sector. The phones battery is claimed by Asus to last for six weeks on standby, 16 hours of talk time, 13 hours of browsing and a video of nine hours. Now let us look at the specifications that made this second PadFone generation a lot more famous that it’s older brother.

The first positive improvement of the PadFone 2 is the introduction of a special slotting mechanism that enables user to slide the phone straight down from the top; while rubber grommets ensures that the phone can’t slide out unless you want it too. There is a metal plug located at the bottom part of the dock which enables these two devices to communicate. The proper placement of the phone is indicated by a small vibration and the screen content of the phone is displayed at the tablet’s screen. The special docking mechanism alone is a great innovation on the part of the company and they thank the entire customer who gave a feedback regarding the first PadFone device.

The phone compared to its older brother is much sleeker in look and feel with at 9mm measurement at its thickest point while having only 3mm at its slimmest point. The phone is much more lightweight compared to its first version and when combined with the tablet casing, its weight is only 649g which is lighter than iPad 3. The 4.7-inch screen is a great improvement from its predecessor and because it is made from Corning Gorilla Glass it is highly scratch resistant. The screen display is also abnormally bright even if you adjust its brightness to 0%, it would be definitely brighter than the 50% brightness of other devices which is awesome for users who check their phones mostly under direct sunlight. With a resolution of 1280×720 which comes out to around 312 pixels per inch, almost all types of animation, graphics and video look colorful.

Sound is also a positive note to mention as Asus SonicMaster tech goes generation three. When placed in an enclosed room it undeniably filled the room with clear and crisp sound. Asus should be also hailed for the app that accompany the phones audio capability for it adds to the thrill. The phone camera is one of best in the smart phone market as it is packed with a 13.0-megapixels rear facing shooter with autofocus and LED flash. In regards to the software performance, the PadFone 2 is considered one of the very best in its class. Having the quad-core processor, a 2GB RAM, and the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean combo is not just for show as it tops the list of the fastest of its kind according to the AnTuTu Benchmark.

So for the smart phone alone, there is no doubt that it is one of the best achiever leading the pact. The software performance is amazingly fast, the camera has great specs and with the sleek look, you might even consider this as one of the most wanted gadgets you dare not miss.
