Google’s Secret for a Prosperous Business

Google’s Secret for a Prosperous Business

Google imparted a basic yet somewhat profound way to a successful business practice. Google’s headquarters in Australia urged other companies in the country as well as in New Zealand to promote a relaxing working environment by providing a work place with options for recreational activities.

According to Google executives, giving their employees the time and the facilities to enjoy themselves bring good results when it comes to delivering outputs that contribute to progress and expansion.

A lair of Zen

Google has a number of headquarters in various countries. Although they are located continents apart, they always share the same theme. Chill out is the common Google theme.

The Australian headquarters of Google is one of the most gratifying places a worker could ever hope to be in. Their office is located in Sydney and has been called by many wonderful names. According to some of the employees, there is no other office in the whole of Australia with such luxurious, comfortable, and enjoyable facilities.

Perks to enjoy

Google’s office in Australia offers awesome amenities when it comes to pampering its employees. If workers want to take a power nap, they would only need to go to the closest sleep pod and lay for the next few minutes. If an employee would like to have a few minutes of solitude and peace, he or she can use a cocoon-like work pod for that much needed time of silence. The headquarters also has a gaming area. Employees can play pool or even table tennis if that’s what they prefer.

Working efficiently and productively

Google designed a business practice that goes beyond the boundaries of what other business usually follow. Some consider this approach very risky, but Google would not be as successful as it is today if not for this kind of work environment. Google has been “spoiling” its employees and promoting this type of business environment for the past few years and look what it has achieved. Some companies are still having second thoughts but Google is encouraging them to follow in its footsteps.

According to statistics, their method really works. The numbers show that relaxed employees tend to be more efficient in doing their jobs. There is also a huge increase in productivity as well as the capability to solve more problems in a smaller amount of time given the perks-riddled working environment.

Better collaboration, too

According to Claire Hatton, Industry Director of Google Australia, collaboration is increased if the working premises are tranquil. Information Technology (IT) policies that tend to be more “understanding” rather than restricting make employees work better leading to a more productive business.

Hatton added that Google believes that collaboration is intrinsically linked with innovation. She clarified that the way they design their work space is also related to how they implement their technology policies. Their approach is unique and definitely working for them.

Proof of success

Claire Hatton was very happy to share to the public that some companies in New Zealand as well in Australia gave testimony to the effectiveness of Google’s working practice. According to Hatton, Westpac and Air New Zealand have confirmed that the working approach of Google – a relaxed approach, works indeed.
