An avid Messi fan broke into the soccer field as a friendly match between Argentina and Sweden was being played last Wednesday, February 6 in Stockholm, Sweden. The unidentified man quickly rushed to Messi and gave him a warm hug, ruffled the soccer superstar’s hair and gave him a kiss on his forehead. Afterwards he let go and faced the crowd and the onrushing game stewards.

Aside from being surprised, Messi had no idea what the male fan, who was much taller than him, intended to do, although there were players around him who could protect him should anything untoward happen. He smiled at the fan after the “adoration” and walked away. He pulled his shirt over his head to wipe his eyes and pulled his uniform back down as if nothing happened. The game continued and Argentina won 3-2. Messi was not able to score in that game.
