Every fan of the BlackBerry has been eagerly anticipating the launch of the BlackBerry 10. While most of the information available has been kept under wraps, there has been some very important news that have been recently made public. Research in Motion (RIM) has said that the interface of the Blackberry 10 is near perfection. This of course has gotten everyone pretty much excited about it. The official launch for the BlackBerry 10 is set on January 30, 2013 and the release is reported to be on February 28 of the same year but there is a possibility that it could be delayed to as late as March. Here is what we know about the product so far since more details are being leaked to the public.
BlackBerry 10 Update
Some of the things you might already know include the fact that the original plan was to call it BBX which unfortunately, has already been taken. Then, besides the launch of Blackberry 10, RIM will also be launching at least six Blackberry phones on the same day. While there have been no reports on what devices will carry the Blackberry 10 except for one (details below), we already have an idea on what carriers are also eager to welcome the product. Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile and AT&T are the top carriers in the country that have already signed up for the Blackberry 10.
The developer also did not provide much information about the launch other than the tagline for the BlackBerry 10. “Re-designed, Re-engineered, Re-invented” is the tagline that has kept everyone on the edge of their seats. That being said, fans are expecting a device that is fully touch screen based. In addition, an image has been circulating around the Internet that was taken from Canada’s Best Buy stock control system in which the reported price for the Blackberry 10 smart phone will be at $799. While there isn’t much to say about the photo except for the fact that it is real, all we can do is to wait until the launch date for RIM to provide us with all the information that we need.
So far, BlackBerry 10 is being tested on the Dev Alpha C handset and there are already 1,500 units being delivered to the BlackBerry developers before the launch on January 31. A few things we know for sure are: the Dev will be the first unit with a physical keyboard which will run on the BlackBerry 10, and there will also be a totally new user interface which will be a far cry from the usual BlackBerry system in the past.
Some more details have emerged on how the BlackBerry 10 will look like in terms of the home screen and the interface. For one, the home screen will contain what is known to be as “active frames” where apps will be displayed according which ones have been recently used. So all you will have to do is tap one in order to launch the app. You will be able to choose up to eight frames for your home screen. Then for the interface, you will be able to swipe the screen left and right, showing you a maximum of 16 apps per page. Be sure to check with us again for more details about the BlackBerry 10.
